Nickelodeon India's Nick HD+ to Start to Air 'Digimon Adventure tri.' Film Series from Sunday 9th September 2018 [Updated]

Update (3/9): Digimon is back by popular demand! Following receiving lots of requests from fans after Nickelodeon Sonic removed the Digimon Adventure tri. anime film series from the channel's schedules following the premiere of the first movie in August 2018 (see below for details), Nickelodeon India's HD channel, Nick HD+ will start to air Digimon Adventure tri. again, beginning with the first movie in the series, "Reunion" on Sunday 9th September 2018 at 1:30pm!

Nickelodeon Sonic, India's first channel for the action-loving generation, will host the Indian TV premiere of the popular Digimon Adventure tri. anime film series this August, kicking off with the first movie in the series, "Reunion", on Friday 10th August 2018 at 7:30pm, as part of the channel's Friday Premiere Punch programming stunt!

Update (19/8): Unfortunately, Nickelodeon made a last minute schedule change, and didn't air the Digimon Adventure tri. movie "Determination" as planned, and has taken Digimon Adventure tri. off the schedule completely for the foreseeable future. Stay tuned for more updates! The schedule change was very last minute, as Nick continued to advertise the premiere and had a on-screen countdown clock up.

Update (21/8): Nickelodeon Sonic's communications team has reportedly confirmed to Anime News India that Digimon Adventure tri., along with other non-locally produced shows, such as Power Rangers and Dinosaur King have been pulled from Sonic's schedules due to poor ratings performances.

Update (14/8): Sonic will air the second movie in the Digimon Adventure tri. series, "Determination", on Friday 17th August 2018 at 7:30pm!

Digimon Adventure tri. (Japanese: デジモンアドベンチャーtri. Hepburn: Dejimon Adobenchā Torai) is a Japanese adventure anime film series produced by Toei Animation to celebrating the 15th anniversary of Akiyoshi Hongo's hit Digimon franchise. The six-part series serves as a direct sequel to the first two television series, Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02.

Digimon Adventure tri. is set three years after Digimon Adventure 02. A mysterious anomaly is causing distortions in the Real World and Digimon are being plagued by a virus that turns them hostile. These circumstances lead to the DigiDestined being reunited with their partner Digimon. Joined by another DigiDestined named Meiko Mochizuki and her partner Meicoomon, they must not only deal with the mystery of the infected Digimon but also with the responsibility of growing up.

Sonic will be airing five of the six Digimon Adventure tri. films this August: "Reunion", "Determination", "Pronounce", "Lost" and "Existence".
