Nickelodeon USA Kicks Off 2018 Worldwide Day of Play 2018 Initiative With End Of School Year Party At The Children's Museum Of Phoenix, Ariz.

Nickelodeon USA kicked off Worldwide Day of Play 2018 by teaming up with the Children's Museum of Phoenix in Arizona to host a awesome End of School Year Celebration!

On Thursday 24th May 2018, Nickelodeon and Children's Museum of Phoenix invited Valley kids to a free event. Attendees got to take part in many Nick-themed activities and games, including sliding down Slime Mountain, run the obstacle course, get slimed in the Slime Booth, meet SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star, and so much more.

The party was part of Nickelodeon's summer-long WWDoP campaign, summer-long play campaign, a slime-filled cross-country tour that celebrates all the ways kids love to play. As part of the net’s Worldwide Day of Play (WWDoP) initiative, the tour will bring activities to events in Phoenix, Ariz.; St. Louis, Mo.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; Oakland, Calif.; and Brooklyn, N.Y., leading up to Nick’s 15th annual Worldwide Day of Play on Saturday, Sept. 29, when Nickelodeon and its sister channels–Nick Jr., Nicktoons, TeenNick and NickMusic–will suspend programming and host grassroots activities with its partners across the U.S. to encourage kids to go outside and get active.

On Sept. 29, Nickelodeon will commemorate its 15th annual Worldwide Day of Play celebration when the network will once again suspend programming across Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Nicktoons, TeenNick and NickMusic, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. (ET/PT), in order to encourage kids to go outside and get active. Worldwide Day of Play is part of Nickelodeon’s global ongoing health and wellness efforts and continues the network’s legacy of promoting positive messages to its viewers. To date, Nickelodeon has held WWDoP events in Argentina, Colombia, Belgium, Mexico, Brazil, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Poland, Germany, Italy, Russia and more.

Worldwide Day of Play was created by Nickelodeon in conjunction with its “Let’s Just Play” campaign. The annual event is designed to encourage children and adults to turn off the television and play, especially outdoors.
