Nickelodeon Africa Slated to Premiere 'Young Dylan', 'Wonder Park' in February 2020

DStv, a Sub-Saharan African direct broadcast satellite service owned by MultiChoice, has announced the exciting news that Nickelodeon Africa is slated to premiere Nickelodeon's brand-new live-action series starring Young Dylan as well as the brand-new Wonder Park animated series in February 2020!


Adventures in Wonder Park is an all new animated series inspired by Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies hit 2019 theatrical feature Wonder Park, in 2020! The series in feature the voices of: Kitana Turnbull as June, Greg Cipes as Peanut, Ken Hudson Campbell as Boomer, Jill Talley as Mom, Cam Clarke as Dad, Rachael MacFarlane as Greta, Kevin Michael Richardson as Gus, Aryan Simhadri as Banky, Stephen Tobolowsky as Uncle Tony, Daran Norris as Principal Peters, Kate McGregor-Stewart as Aunt Albertine, and Raymond McLeod.

Announced earlier this year, Untitled Young Dylan Show (working title), Nickelodeon, the number-one kids’ network, and Tyler Perry Studios have entered into a content partnership to jointly develop and produce a new kids and family live-action series with 10-year-old rapper Young Dylan (Dylan Gilmer, @officialyoungdylan). The news was revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Written by Perry, the project tells the story of a family whose world is turned upside down when their nephew, an aspiring hip-hop star, moves in unannounced.

Nickelodeon’s partnership with Tyler Perry Studios is part of Perry’s long-term pact with Viacom, producing original series for BET Networks and other Viacom networks, with exclusive licensing rights on this programming. Additionally, Tyler Perry Studios recently announced its joint venture with BET Networks for the new streaming video on demand service BET+.

Born and raised in Annapolis, MD, Young Dylan is best known for his many appearances and performances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and at NBA All-Star Weekend. He also made a guest appearance on the revival of Nickelodeon’s hit series, All That. Young Dylan has an overall talent deal with Telepictures, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Television.

Dylan Gilmer is represented by Sherry Kayne of The Green Room and Chris Abramson at Felker Toczek Suddleson Abramson. The City of Annapolis recently presented Gilmer with the key to the city in recognition of his big break.

Throughout 2020, we’ll continue to lead the kids entertainment offering in Africa with brand new shows like Young Dylan and Wonderpark coming to Nickelodeon (305) in February, Spongebob The Musical Special, Jojo D.R.E.A.M Concert Special air on Nicktoons (308) in February and the Kids Choice Awards returns with all of the slime in March, also on Nicktoons (308)."

The news follows ViacomCBS Networks Africa and MultiChoice Group recently announcing the renewal of their distribution partnership which highlights the investment in local content, bringing audiences programming that showcases the best of Africa’s creativity and talent.
