'Ricky Zoom' Revs Up for Season 2

Entertainment One (eOne) is set to head into production on the second season of Ricky Zoom (52×11 minute episodes), which will be ready for broadcast as soon as November 2020!


Ricky Zoom has achieved outstanding ratings in multiple markets and across several platforms since its debut at the end of 2019. It is currently a top five pre-school show with boys on Nickelodeon in the US, number one on Nick Jr. commercial kids’ channel in the UK, and the number one show on Clan in Spain. It has also seen successful reports from other international territories including Canada and Italy. Ricky Zoom’s appeal also resonates in China where the series has garnered more than 425 million views on streaming platform, YouKu. The series is slated to debut on Channel 5's Milkshake! preschool programming block in May 2020.

The property’s growing popularity was evident in the response to its first app, Welcome to Wheelford, which has been downloaded more than 4 million times globally since its release in August 2019.

Following the series’ broadcast success, eOne is readying the launch of the first wave of consumer products in key territories, led by the launch of Ricky Zoom toys from global master toy partner TOMY this spring, including six key product skus across a variety of price points focused on core characters, Ricky and his Bike Buddies. The collection will roll out in multiple territories this spring. The toy launch will be followed by a limited range of secondary category product launches to meet consumer demand in 2020, including publishing, puzzles and games, arts and crafts, apparel and accessories, with additional secondary launches planned throughout 2021.

Ricky Zoom follows the adventures of Ricky, a little red rescue bike, and his loyal Bike Buddies as they zoom around their Wheelford community helping others, trying out new stunts, and learning to stand on their own two wheels.

Meet the Bike Buddies along for the ride:

- Ricky Zoom – A little rescue bike that loves to go fast, Ricky is a loyal friend and natural leader of the Bike Buddies.

- Loop Hoopla – An adventurous dirt bike with a happy-go-lucky attitude, Loop loves having fun and trying crazy new stunts.

- Scootio Wizzbang – Scootio is bright, brainy and never afraid to speak her mind. She loves using her technical genius and gadgets to solve problems.

- DJ Rumbler – DJ has a huge heart and would do anything for his friends. He also has a super toolbox and a robotic arm, so there is nothing he cannot build—or knock down.

Developed by Emmy Award-winning creator Alexander Bar and production house Frog Box, Ricky Zoom highlights the importance of friendship, resourcefulness, community and teamwork. Celebrating differences is one of many zoomtastic themes within the series.

Ricky Zoom, along with Peppa Pig and PJ Masks, is among the properties that recently joined Hasbro through a major acquisition that brought eOne together with the Rhode Island-based toy and entertainment company last year.

Entertainment One is sending its hit preschool series Ricky Zoom scooting to airwaves on China’s CCTV-14 children’s channel, starting March 23. From March 23-27, 10 episodes will screen each day starting at 11:20 a.m. The show has already proven a favorite for children and families since debuting in mainland China in June 2019 on Youku, where the speedy adventures of the little motorbike pals raced to 100 million views in the first 12 days. A report by Children’s Content Observation ranked the show No. 2 for foreign animation on Youku in 2019, exceeded only by Peppa Pig S7.

Around the world, Ricky Zoom is number one on Nick Jr. in the U.K. and Clan in Spain, and revs up top performances on Treehouse (Canada), RAI (Italy) and across LatAm. A second season is currently in production, due for delivery in November. eOne and global master toy partner TOMY will soon launch toys inspired by Ricky and his Bike Buddies; additional licensed merch will roll out in 2020 and 2021.

Dal suo debutto in Italia su Rai Yoyo a settembre 2019, Ricky Zoom ha ottenuto una media di 174mila spettatori e picchi di oltre 292mila, superando di quasi tre punti la media di Rai Yoyo tra i bambini di 4-7 anni nella collocazione mattutina, mentre lo scorso novembre è stato il terzo programma più visto sui canali italiani per bambini nella fascia 13.00-18.00.

Ricky Zoom attualmente è una delle 5 migliori serie tv prescolari per i bambini di Nickelodeon negli Stati Uniti, il primo show sul canale per bambini Nick Jr. nel Regno Unito e il primo show su Clan in Spagna, uno dei primi 3 show del weekend di Treehouse in Canada e supera le medie dei canali nella regione latino-americana, mentre in Cina la serie ha raccolto oltre 425 milioni di visualizzazioni sulla piattaforma streaming YouKu.
