ARE YOU READY, KIDS? Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America is celebrating SpongeBob SquarePants’ 20th Anniversary with a weekend full of FUN over Saturday, July 13 + Sunday, July 14!
The weekend celebration includes a ticketed Super Fan Event featuring Tom Kenny and Carolyn Lawrence, the voice talents behind SpongeBob and Sandy Cheeks, a SpongeBob SquarePants Storyboard Artist and a spongeriffic viewing party for the brand new one hour SpongeBob SquarePants birthday special. You won’t want to miss this weekend of nautical nonsense, view all the fun weekend details below!
SpongeBob SquarePants Super Fan Event
When: Saturday, July 13 | 2 – 5 p.m.
Where: Parkview
Dive down to Nickelodeon Universe to meet Tom Kenny and Carolyn Lawrence, the voice talents behind SpongeBob SquarePants and Sandy Cheeks. Tickets include admission to the event, a custom screen-printed SpongeBob SquarePants T-shirt, an 18 point pass to Nickelodeon Universe, Character meet and greet, photo ops + more!

SpongeBob SquarePants Storyboard Artist
Dates: Saturday + Sunday, July 13 + 14
Location: Blue Spot
Take home a SpongeBob Character drawing from the artist who work on the show! Must have a Nickelodeon Universe all day wristband to receive a drawing. While supplies last.
Saturday Schedule:
10 a.m. – 1 p.m. + 2 – 6 p.m.
Sunday Schedule:
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. + 2 – 5 p.m.
SpongeBob SquarePants Viewing Party
When: Sunday, July 14 | 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Where: Rotunda
Join Team Nick for a viewing of a brand new one hour SpongeBob SquarePants birthday special “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout” hosted by special guest Carolyn Lawrence the voice talent of Sandy Cheeks! Get your photo taken with the SpongeBob Characters, grab a sample of your favorite Entenmann’s Little Bite Mini Muffins and more!
SpongeBob Characters will be out for meet and greets from 11 – 11:30 a.m.
If that's not enough excitement, Nickelodeon Universe will also be hosting a Double Dare Challenge throughout the summer!
Dates: Wednesday - Sunday
Times: 1 p.m. & 4 p.m.
Location: West Market Square
On your mark, get set, GO! It’s time for the Double Dare Challenge, right in Nickelodeon Universe. Answer questions, tackle physical challenges, navigate the super sloppy Double Dare obstacle course and get Slimed! Contestants will compete in physical challenges, trivia challenges and of course get to dare their opponents for double the points. Get in on the game…if you dare! It’s the Double Dare Challenge every Wednesday – Sunday at 1 + 4 p.m. this summer at Nickelodeon Universe from June 15 – August 25, as part of Summer of Play.
“SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout” will premiere on Nickelodeon USA on Friday, July 12, at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT).
Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants 20 celebration forms part of the "Best Year Ever", Nickelodeon's year-long global celebration commemorating 20 years of SpongeBob SquarePants, one of the most iconic TV series and characters ever created, which will lead up to the Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies theatrical, The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge, coming 2020.
