BURBANK, Calif.—July 25, 2019—Nickelodeon sets the stage with an all-star celebrity lineup for the network’s new music competition show, America’s Most Musical Family. Grammy Award-winning global superstar Ciara, who is an executive producer, digital media sensation David Dobrik and singer-songwriter, record producer and actress Debbie Gibson will serve as series judges alongside host Nick Lachey, as 30 talented families compete for a recording contract with Republic Records and a $250,000 cash prize.

America’s Most Musical Family was first announced in February as part of Nickelodeon’s biggest, most wide-ranging content slate ever. The 12-episode series begins production this week in Los Angeles and is scheduled to premiere later this fall.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nick Lachey and our incredibly talented judges—Ciara, David Dobrik and Debbie Gibson—to Nickelodeon. Nick continues to wow crowds performing alongside his brother Drew in 98°; Debbie remains the record-holder as the youngest female artist to write, produce and perform a number-one hit; David’s razor-sharp wit and expertise in the digital world will help families build their brand; and Ciara leads her own family in the spotlight as she continues her chart-topping career as a true triple threat. But ultimately, this competition for all ages is about celebrating exceptionally talented families. We’re in for a spectacular show,” said Rob Bagshaw, Executive Vice President of Unscripted Content.

America’s Most Musical Family is a one-of-a-kind music competition series that features a wide variety of talented and diverse families of two or more relatives who perform together, ranging from a father/daughter duo, sibling groups and a 12-member multigenerational brass ensemble. Over the course of 12 hour-long episodes and one half-hour special, 30 of America’s most musical families will battle it out on stage for the chance to win a $250,000 cash prize and a recording contract with Republic Records.

America’s Most Musical Family is produced by Industrial Media’s Emmy Award-winning The Intellectual Property Corporation, with IPC’s Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman (Undercover Boss, So You Think You Can Dance), Claire Kosloff and showrunner Jeff Boggs (Nashville Star, Who Will Rock You?) as Executive Producers. Ciara also serves as Executive Producer, alongside Republic Records and Nickelodeon’s Rob Bagshaw and Paul J Medford. The series is directed by Julia Knowles (The X Factor, MTV Europe Music Awards), with stage design by Emmy Award-winning set designer Anton Goss (The Voice, Shark Tank). Production of America’s Most Musical Family is overseen for Nickelodeon by Rob Bagshaw, Executive Vice President, Unscripted Content.

Confirmed contestants on the show include Ava and Lily Rashed. The Kid Brothers have also hinted at being contestants on the show.

Ciara made the exciting announcement about her new project on Instagram:

"I am so excited and proud to be an executive producer and judge on Nickelodeon’s newest music family competition show — America’s Most Musical Family! This show is the first of its kind! Only families compete! It’s incredible to see all families get on the stage and sing their hearts out! Can’t wait for you all to see it, coming this fall!" she wrote.

Access spoke with the cast at Nickelodeon Studios where they shared their excitement to help launch a family band into stardom.

“The concept is really refreshing,” Ciara said, praising the “unique” and “fun” dynamic in addition the performers’ “highest level of talent.”

Debbie couldn’t help but agree that this will be a spectacular show:

“It’s a great group,” she smiled while chatting with Access.

Though all four stars are familiar with finding success in the spotlight at a young age, Nick pointed out that he might have come closest to being an “America’s Most Musical Family” participant himself.

“I mean, I’m literally in a band with my brother,” the singer laughed, referring to bandmate and younger bro Drew Lachey. “98 Degrees would have been eligible for this show!”

“Drew and I are best friends and for me it’s been very special and meaningful to go through the experience with someone I already care so much about. You [hear] about some siblings, the Gallagher brothers or whoever, who fight like maniacs and then the group ends up breaking up,” he tells Billboard, referencing the ongoing Oasis stalemate between Noel and Liam Gallagher whilst speaking to Billboard. “But we are very much the opposite scenario.”

Lachey says his hosting vibe will be all about having a good time. “First of all, I want everyone to have fun -- not only the viewing audience but also all the groups that are a part of this.”

Gibson, who holds the record as the youngest female artist to write, produce and perform a No. 1 Billboard single with 1987’s “Foolish Beat,” says she’s been “floored” by the level of talent on the show. “We didn’t have the Internet, we were essentially inspired by whatever records our parents had on, or watching Donnie and Marie on Friday nights. To hear all of these different influences in their musical styles and arrangements is amazing.”

"I’m most excited to sit front row and watch all of these talented families put on a great show, and see all the kids put on twists to all of my favorite songs,” says Dobrik, who leads YouTube ensemble the Vlog Squad.

The deal for Dobrik’s to participate on the show was brokered by Dobrik’s representation, Jack Reed at Millennial Entertainment. Dobrik is also signed with talent agency WME.

Few days ago I met @debbiegibson at #americasmostmusicalfamily taping at the @nickelodeon studios and she was the nicest person ever. She told me that she got started by humming songs all day long, so since my brother isn’t here to sing with me I’m partially humming and singing along to @thecastillokids cover #OnlyInMyDreams . when it came out everyone went, ‘She’s an overnight sensation,’ and meanwhile it was actually 65 weeks after its release that it went (to #4) ..it was 65 weeks of pounding the pavement and shaking every radio program director’s hand around the country and singing at every free radio event. Quoting @rhino_records well, #debbiegibson shook my hand and also followed our IG account. Looks like we’re on the right track. 💯🙏🏼 #ammf #hustleisreal #musicislife #stayhumble #keepitreal #workhard #seanandrewbleu #kidmusician #kidactors #thekidbrothers #80smusicisthebest
