Nickelodeon Poland to Introduce Kids to Computer Programming with TechNICK Camp

Nickelodeon Poland (Polska) is partnering with the Institute of Automation and Applied Computer Science at Warsaw University of Technology (Instytut Automatyki i Informatyki Stosowanej Politechniki Warszawskiej) to launch TechNICK Camp, a brand-new course that will introduce kids to the world of computer programming!


Taking place between Monday 4th - Friday 8th February 2018 in Warsaw (Warszawie, przy ul. Mokotowskiej 19.), attendees will be able to attend classes especially designed to teach children the basics of computer programming, as well as to encourage kids to further their education of computers and their knowledge of algorithms, and to encourage further develop their creativity. Children will learn computer programming under the supervision of specialists and educators at TechNICK Camp. Children do not need to have any prior knowledge of computer coding to attend TechNICK Camp.

In addition to the classes, kids attending TechNICK Camp will also be treated to trips to Politechnikę Warszawską and the Copernicus Science Centre (Centrum Nauki Kopernik), and will be able to take part in the interesting workshops that will be conducted during their stay.

In between classes, children will have 30-minute breaks during which they will be able to relax (including taking part in relaxation exercises, such as yoga for children).

TechNICK Camp take places place between 10:00am - 17:00 each day, however, the common room will open at 08:30, in which TechNICK Camp will conduct extra classes for kids who arrive earlier. Children will also be allowed to stay until 17:30 each day.

TechNICK Camp is aimed towards children aged between 8-15 years old. Classes will be held in two groups each day: Group 1 for children aged 8-11, and group 2 for children aged 12-15.

Tickets to the TechNICK Camp cost 1000 PLN per day, which includes breakfast and one hot meal, as well as computers and all the necessary equipment that kids will need to take part in TechNICK Camp. Children will be looked up by qualified educators.

Children are encouraged to bring footwear to change throughout the day. For the relaxation exercises after classes, TechNICK Camp recommends comfortable, stretchy outfits - but children do not have to completely change. For outdoor trips, TechNICK Camp encourages children to bring clothes that suit the weather on the day.

TechNICK Camp to półkolonie zimowe Nickelodeon, które wprowadzą dzieci w świat programowania. Zajęcia z programowania zostały przygotowane z myślą o dzieciach i młodzieży. Nie wymagają żadnego wcześniejszego przygotowania, ukierunkowują dalszą edukację, rozwijają kreatywność i wiedzę z algorytmiki. Dzieci będą programowały pod okiem specjalistów i pedagogów. Oprócz samych zajęć z programowania podczas półkolonii odbędą się atrakcyjne wycieczki na Politechnikę Warszawską i do Centrum Nauki Kopernik, a także będą prowadzone ciekawe warsztaty. Pomiędzy zajęciami z programowania dzieci będą miały 30 minutowe przerwy, podczas których będą mogły się zrelaksować.
