Nickelodeon Africa Announces NickFest 2018 Nigeria Host, Acts | Day 1 & Day 2 Highlights

After a successful family-centric first year, Nickelodeon Africa in partnership with Maltina is thrilled to announce that the tickets to the second edition of NickFest Nigeria are available – and parents can treat their families to a two-day extravaganza at the orange entertainment filled wonderland!

NickFest Nigeria 2018 will take place on Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th of September 2018 at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace, Victoria Island, Lagos!

In addition to Maltina’s Happyland, this year the entertainment packed event welcomes associate sponsors Indomie and DStv Nigeria who will be joining in on the fun by creating additional experience zones. TV personality Ikponmwosa “IK” Osakioduwa returns as a host, joined by Nigeria’s Got Talent maiden edition winner, Amarachi as a co-host.

Tickets are available at Afritickets for N5,000 each day for adults and children three-years and above, while kids under the age of two have free access to the Federal Palace on Saturday, 29 September and Sunday, 30 September.

Families can anticipate performances by Nickelodeon’s superstar characters: SpongeBob SquarePants; Adventure Bay’s intrepid pups, Skye, Rubble Marshall and Chase from Paw Patrol; the energetic Dora the Explorer with her animal rescuer cousin, Diego and her best pal, Boots. The genies who can solve any problem, Shimmer and Shine, are also part of the amazing character lineup and there will be surprise performances by some of Africa’s most adored entertainers. Kids and parents can look forward to lots of singing, dancing and pure laugh out loud wholesome fun as they are whisked away to their favorite Nickelodeon characters’ worlds.

Performing on the NickFest stage this year are A-list Nigerian musical acts such as Mayorkun, Falz, Simi and Adekunle Gold.

Once again the Celebrity Slime Challenge will be the highlight of NickFest as popular personalities are slimed green in an effort to raise both awareness and funds for children support through NGO projects in Nigeria.

This follows last year’s success which saw Nigerian top entertainers such as Mr. P (Paul of P-Square), Chioma Akpotha, Ill Bliss and Mr. Eazi covered in slime in order to raise awareness and funds for the indigent Children’s Trust.

Apart from creating an opportunity for attendees to give to a good cause, NickFest serves as an avenue for children to have fun with their favourite Nickelodeon characters and for adults to let loose and unleash their inner child.

This year NickFest will welcome more than 4,000 children and families to the Federal Palace Hotel, transforming the venue into a bright orange Nickelodeon and Maltina fun fest.

Alex Okosi, Executive Vice President and Managing Director for VIMN Africa and BET International confirmed the line up at an event in Lagos on Thursday. During the event, Okosi said: “NickFest delivers an amazing experience for families to enjoy the best of Nickelodeon. We are thrilled to bring the festival back to Nigeria in partnership with Maltina for a second consecutive year. Back with a bang, Nickelodeon’s annual family-centric festival threw kids, parents and guardians into a delightful mood yesterday as day one of NickFest 2018, held at Balmoral Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos. Nickelodeon, saw the venue transformed into a massive kiddies’ wonderland with amazing toys, fun games, and loads of sparkling bright colors and exciting performances


The two-day event which attracts thousands of kids and parents across Lagos was nothing short of a family fun packed with entertainment, activities, events and experiences for all ages as promised and delivered by the organisers. NickFest thrilled kids and parents alike thanks to , Nickelodeon in partnership with Maltina.


The Highlights of Day one of the festival include performances featuring two of Nigeria’s talented music stars, Nigeria’s iconic rapper M.I Abaga and DMW music star Adewale Mayorkun Emmanuel, professionally known as Mayorkun. The whole venue came alive again during their exhilarating performances, which set the whole place in a delightful mood that kids, parents, other music lovers present let loose and engaged the singers in a sing-along with so much thrills beyond their expectation.


The excitement continued as children of all ages in attendance witnessed the arrival of their favourite Nickelodeon characters live at the festival, the energetic Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants, Adventure Bay’s intrepid pups, Skye, Rubble Marshall and Chase from Paw Patrol with her animal rescuer cousin, Diego and her best pal, Boots, Shimmer and Shine and of course Teenage Mutant ninja Turtles.

Due to travel complications, rapper Falz was unfortunately unable to appear at day one of NickFest NG 2018. Nickelodeon were fortunate to have MI Abaga join them for a surprise performance which left all audiences thrilled!
