Nickelodeon Unveils First-Look At 'Butterbean's Cafe' At Licensing Expo 2018 [Updated]

To celebrate the upcoming launch of Butterbean's Cafe, Nickelodeon recently unveiled a super first-look at the networks upcoming brand-new animated preschool series at Licensing Expo 2018 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV!


Butterbean's Cafe (40 episodes) centers on a fairy named Butterbean and her adventures running the neighborhood café with her friends. Butterbean’s Cafe features creative cooking, and a social-emotional curriculum that highlights entrepreneurial and leadership skills. The currently confirmed characters in the show are: Butterbean, Keesha, Cricket, Jasper, Ms. Marmalady, Poppy, Miss Honeybook and Reuben. Created by Jonny Belt and Robert Scull, the creators of Bubble Guppies, the series is produced by Brown Bag Films (Peter Rabbit) in Ireland, and is slated to launch during Fall 2018.

Update (7/31) - Nickelodeon announced during their Partner Positioning presentation at Licensing Expo 2018, Las Vegas that Nickelodeon plans to launch Butterbean's Cafe products in the United States in 2019 and internationally in 2020! The voice cast of Butterbean's Cafe will include: Athan Sporek (Les Misérables and A Bronx Tale on Broadway); Kirrilee Berger (stage productions of Billy Elliot and Mary Poppins, Dora The Explorer, Hall Stars, Nickelodeon Pilot Storyforia) as Poppy; Melissa Van Der Schyff (Sunny Day, Wallykazam!, The Thing About Babies, Jillian Holtzman in Ghostbusters (2016) LEGO Dimensions) as Miss Honeybook; Aiden Reid Medina (Team Umizoomi, Dora the Explorer, Myth of Robo Wonder Kid, Bubble Guppies, Dora and Friends: Into the City!, Blaze and the Monster Machines) as Reuben (recurring character), Kid 2 and Brookie Kid 1; Nancy Giles (The Jim Gaffigan Show, The Electric Company, Superheroes, Law & Order), Alysia Reiner (Orange Is the New Black, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, 30 Rock, The Sopranos); Gabriella Pizzolo; and clients of Stephanie Artuso, who runs the commercial department at Shirley Grant Management.

On the series, Cathi Turow (Sesame Street) serves as Headwriter; Mark Salisbury (The Naked Brothers Band) series as Supervising director; Laura Kleinbaum (Staff Writer at Nick Jr.) serves as Staff Writer; Stacey Greenberger (Blaze and the Monster Machines, Welcome to the Wayne, Hunter Street, I Am Frankie) serves as a episode writer; Rosie duPont serves as Script Assistant; Jake Bolles serves as a Editing Engineer, and provides Dialogue Recording services for the show; Michael Kaufman (Bubble Guppies) serves as the Line Producer; and David Bourgeois is producing Voice Over for show.

Four Butterbean's Cafe episode titles have also been revealed: "Reuben's Pizza Party", "Cricket Boss", "Jasper Petsitting", and "A Bean for Halloween".

The Butterbean’s Cafe theme song has been written by multi-platinum songwriter Jeannie Lurie (School of Rock).
