Nick Africa Spreads The Nickmas Cheer With Nickelodeon In The City At Sandton City Centre

Nickelodeon Africa are spreading the holiday cheer this festive season at Sandton City Centre with Nickelodeon in the City!

Nickelodeon favourites the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT), the Pup's from PAW Patrol, and, for the first time in South Africa, Dora & Friends, are the star attractions at the children’s festive wonderland, which takes place at Sandton City from Friday 9th to Saturday 24th December 2016!

These favourite Nickelodeon characters come to Johannesburg for holiday entertainment at its best for the entire family. There will be four stage shows every day plus three meet-and-greet sessions with your favourite TV characters, as well as plenty of fun in a giant Lego area. Show times are at 10h00, 13h00, 16h00 and 18h00. Entrance for all shows and activities is free of charge. Meet and greets take place after the 10am, 1pm and 4pm shows. There are no meet and greets after the 6pm shows. First come, first served.

PAW Patrol favourites Ryder, Chase, Marshall, Sky and Rubble will be entertaining youngsters in a live stage show from Friday 9th to Tuesday 13th December 2016; Dora, Kate and Pablo from Dora & Friends: Into The City are in town from Wednesday 14th to Sunday 18th December 2016; and Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be in action from Monday 19th to Saturday 24th December 2016.

A spin-off of Nick Jr.'s popular original Dora the Explorer series, Dora and Friends stars the heroine Dora as a pre-teen who goes on city adventures with a group of new friends. Set in the fictional city of Playa Verde, Dora and her friends go on adventures, whether it's rescuing a lost stuffed monkey for a little boy in the hospital or returning a ring to an ancient Mayan Princess. Throughout her journeys, Dora uses Map App on her smartphone and a magical charm bracelet to navigate the city and overcome any obstacle. In the new series, Dora continues to be a good friend, leader, and problem-solver with a group of new friends–Kate, Naiya, Emma, Alana and Pablo-who share her passion for learning and exploring.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are four teenage turtles named after Italian Renaissance artists. From their home in sewers of New York City, they battle petty criminals, evil overlords, mutated animals and alien invaders while attempting to remain hidden from society.

PAW Patrol is an action-adventure pre-school series starring six heroic Puppies: Chase, Marshall, Rocky, Zuma, Rubble, and Skye, who are led by a tech-savvy 10-year-old boy named Ryder. With a unique blend of problem-solving skills, cool vehicles and lots of cute canine humour, the PAW Patrol works together on high-stakes rescue missions to protect the Adventure Bay community.

These live shows are only part of Sandton City’s spectacular festive activities, as the shopping centre will also host two large Lego pits in the Checkers Court, as well as a Christmas tree build, a policeman build, a Lego Friends photo opportunity, a Duplo section for younger children and face-painting.

The Toy Kingdom train is also offering youngsters rides around the upper level of the centre, and one of the most important people at Christmastime, Santa Claus, will be sitting in his sleigh, posing for photographs with customers.

There will be two gift-wrapping kiosks where shoppers can have all their presents beautifully wrapped for a donation. All proceeds from the gift wrapping will be donated to Sandton City’s selected charity for 2016, the Sandton SPCA.
