UPDATE - (Thursday 4th April 2013) "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and "Legend of Korra" fan website AvatarTheLastAirbenderOnline.com is reporting the Nick UK News that Nickelodeon UK has announced in a email that they are also hoping to also show episodes from season two of "Legend of Korra" fairly close to their original US airdates.

The Nickelodeon UK fanblog NickUKHub is reporting the very exciting Nickelodeon UK News that, according to an email sent by Nick UK and Eire to Twitter user @CrhizAkaTheMole, Nickelodeon UK and Ireland have announced that Nickelodeon UK will start to premiere and show Nickelodeon's brand new original animated series (Nicktoon) "Legend of Korra" on Nickelodeon UK and Ireland and Nickelodeon HD UK's in May 2013!
"Good news - Avatar: The Legend of Korra starts on Nickelodeon here in the UK in May... sorry for the delay, but we hope you'll agree that the series is worth waiting for!"
Although not confirmed, Nick UK's official "Avatar: The Last Airbender" webpage on the channels official website, Nick.co.uk/Avatar, is hinting that Nick UK & Eire may start to show new NickToon "The Legend of Korra" from Sunday 12th May 2013 at 9.00am (repeated at 10.00am on Nick UK's plus-one timeshift channel, Nick+1)!

"The Legend of Korra" takes place 70 years after the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender and follows the next Avatar after Aang – a girl named Korra (Janet Varney) who is from the Southern Water Tribe. With three of the four elements under her belt (Earth, Water and Fire), Korra seeks to master Air. Her quest leads her to Republic City, the modern “Avatar” world that is a virtual melting pot where benders and non-benders from all nations live and thrive. Korra quickly discovers that the metropolis is plagued by crime as well as a growing anti-bending revolution that threatens to rip the city apart. Under the tutelage of Aang’s son, Tenzin (J.K. Simmons), Korra begins her airbending training while dealing with the dangers at large.

The Legend Of Korra UK Release Month Announced – May

As I am sure most of you know, I have been in constant contact with Nick Uk about the Uk premiere of Korra (Yes, Uk/Ireland have not gotten Korra yet at all).

They, unlike Nick America, have actually been very helpful with their replies.

Last month I was told to message them this month and they would more than likely have news for me. Well just minutes ago I got the reply back and here is what they have to say.
Hi Morgan! Yes, we’ve got some good news for you – Avatar: The Legend of Korra starts on Nickelodeon here in the UK in May.

We’re really sorry for the delay, but we hope you’ll agree that the series was worth waiting for! We’ll be showing Book 1 to begin with, and although it’s a bit too soon to talk about Book 2, we hope that we’ll be able to show it fairly close to its US airdates. Can’t promise – we’ll have to see what happens. Fingers crossed!

I hope this answers your question, and that you enjoy the show.

All the best,

Ant

So Korra premieres Uk and Ireland in May, I assume the exact date will be announced closer to the time. They mention Book 2 because I asked what their plan was for it, but as you can see all they know is that they will more than likely be able to show it around the same time as America. I.E Uk will have caught up on Korra and the Book 2 premiere will be more worldwide.

The Nick Uk site mentions May 12th at 9am as being the next Avatar thing on air, but there is no mention of this being Korra. It more than likely is May 12th though.

I asked about this on their site and here was the response
Hi Morgan! Ah, well spotted.. We don’t usually announce exact dates until a show is closer to transmission, but yes, that might be The Legend of Korra. J

We might still move it, so please don’t shout at us if it changes – but whatever happens it’ll definitely be on in May!
All the best,

Ant

I for one am so glad to see Nick Uk telling me this, explaining their decisions and answering the fans. So May 12th may very well be the date, but if it is not then it is definitely May.

Great news for UK and Irish fans, thoughts ?

‘The Legend of Korra’: Season 1 will debut very soon in the U.K.

While most fans of The Legend of Korra are waiting hungrily for season 2 of the hit cartoon, Nickelodeon U.K. has revealed when season 1 will arrive for fans across the pond.

Nickelodeon U.K. has confirmed that season 1 of The Legend of Korra will begin airing in the U.K. and Ireland in May. The news comes from the enterprising Morgan Bannon of Avatar: The Last Airbender Online, who been querying the company for information on The Legend of Korra‘s U.K. air date for several months. The network responded to his most recent email with the new information, though they did not specify an exact date for the series’ premiere.

Regarding an eventual U.K. air date for the elusive season 2 of The Legend of Korra (for which, as fans across the globe will know, there is still no official release date) – Nickelodeon admitted that “it’s a bit too soon to talk about.” However, the network does “hope that we’ll be able to show [Book 2] fairly close to its US air dates.”

Whenever The Legend of Korra season 2 does eventually premiere in the US, we certainly hope that U.K. fans will not be forced to wait much longer before the show can been seen across the pond. Season 1 of The Legend of Korra first aired in April 2012, which will bring the wait for the U.K. to more than a year. Still, the responsiveness of Nickelodeon U.K. is heartening, and we can’t wait to see The Legend of Korra pick up a whole new swath of fans as season 1′s drama and excitement comes to tellys across the U.K.
