Global broadcasters pick up Totally Spies season six

Zodiak Kids has inked global broadcast renewals for season six of Marathon Media-produced girl-centric animated series Totally Spies! (26 x 26 minutes).

The hit action comedy’s original commissioning broadcaster, TF1 in France, has picked up the brand-new season along with Nickelodeon for German-speaking Europe, Benelux, CE Europe, Nordics, CIS, SE Asia and Africa, and Disney France.

Supporting the show’s cross-platform approach, an original four-month promotional event slated to culminate at Versailles in 2013 features a Versailles-themed movie, interactive app and treasure hunt, will launch in addition to updates for the brand's successful Facebook RPG, Totally Spies! Fashion Agents.

The new season is set to debut at MIP Junior next month. With 156 episodes, Totally Spies! is now the longest-running French animated series and has been one of TF1′s top-performing kids show since its launch in 2001. The series has also expanded into mobile apps with last year’s release of Totally Pinball Party.

Zodiak Kids handles all TV rights for the series while consumer products rights are managed by Zodiak Kids CP Paris.

Totally Spies expands presence in Southern Europe

Totally Spies viewers will be seeing a lot more of the Zodiak Kids brand in Southern Europe thanks to new cross-platform initiatives by Italy’s Super TV and Spain’s TV3.

The Marathon Media-produced animated series launched as a brand new mini-site on Super TV's Super.it kid’s portal on June 24, becoming the portal's first property-based mini-site. The launch was timed with a recent Super TV re-launch of the entire 156 x 26-minute Totally Spies franchise.

For Spain, TV3′s kids channel Super3 has launched season six with an extensive broadcast promotion highlighted by 12 new episodes of the series and strong ratings from airing Totally Spies! The Movie (1 x 75 minutes) on June15-16. Super3′s kids portal www.super3.cat has also added new online activities around the IP and TV3 recently renewed seasons one to five and Totally Spies!
