PROMISING Chapeltown athlete, Samuel Ramos, is celebrating after being nominated for a Nickelodeon Award [a Nickelodeon Fruit Shoot Skills Award]. Samuel, 9, amazed the judges with his incredible Gymnastic skills and took to calling him the human boomerang after seeing pictures capturing Samuel being launched 10 feet in the air whilst performing multiple somersaults on top of a bridge. Samuel now trains gymnastics with his coach and father, Marcelo de Ramos, and trampolining with coach Jay Scouler at the prestigious City of Liverpool Trampoline Club. He comes from an extremely sporty family, with his eldest brother, Jordan Ramos, 16, being a Guinness World Record Breaker and Tumbling Gymnastic Champion, having represented GB at World and European Championships. Both his parents, Marcelo and Anita, are also into sport and fitness with his mother being a fitness instructor and his father boosting acrobatic stunts such as somersaulting backwards over cars and diving through hoops of razor sharp knives. The family is completed by Rio who is just two years old and has just received his first made to measure gymnastic costume from Milano Pro Sport. Samuel said: "I can't believe I've been nominated for a Nickelodeon Award, I'm so excited! I was amazed when my mum and dad told me the news."
