"Summer in Transylvania" (originally called "Freaky Farleys") is a original Nickelodeon UK live action children's television programme (Nickelodeon UK's first since "Genie in the House") which was created and is written by Andy Watts (who was also behind the hugely popular BAFTA nominated CITV show "My Parents Are Aliens", and is produced by The Foundation (a Zodiak media company) and Candida Julian-Jones, and is a teenager called 'Summer Farley' (played by actress Sophie Stuckey) who struggles to make the best of her new home, new school and social life when herself and her family, her younger brother 'Jake Farley' (played by actor Eros Vlahos), and their father, 'Dr Mike Farley' (played by actor Richard Lumsden), relocates and moves Transylvania for her dad's job.

Life in the Farleys' new Transylvanian home is complicated when the local community, which of course, is comprised of zombies, werewolves, vampires and mummies, looks upon Summer's "normal" family as weird. At least Summer has two new friends to help her along at her new school, Stoker High: 'Heidi the Zombie' (played by actress Amy Wren) and 'Bobby the Werewolf' (portrayed by actor Kane Ricca), who have to deal with 'Serena', a mean Vampire (portrayed by actress Charlie Jordan Evans), 'Rolf', a Werewolf who is Serena's boyfriend, and 'Dr Tempest' (portrayed by actor Andrew Harrison), a vampire who is the Principal of Darkness, Head of English and a teacher at Stoker High.

"Summer in Transylvania" also features Lee Simmonds as 'Bolt', a Frankenstein monster who's Jake's best friend, Phillipa Peak as 'Magda', the Farley families housekeeper who, is apparently human although there are suggestions there is more to her than meets the eye, and has a crush on Mike Farley.

Summer in Transylvania

Episodes 20 x 22' for Nickelodeon UK

This exciting, new supernatural series revolves around the home, school and social life of Summer Farley as she struggles to make the best of her new life in Transylvania. Summer Farley is pretty, witty and upbeat and was the most popular girl in her high school. However, when the Farley family relocate to the weird, wonderful and unpredictable land of Transylvania for her dad’s job, Summer has to adjust to her perfectly normal family being regarded as weird and gross, in a community made up of zombies, werewolves, vampires and mummies.

The comedy situation Summer finds herself in each episode is a monstrous new challenge for her to overcome in her new world, thankfully supported by her new friends Heidi, a zombie girl, and Bobby, a wereboy. However, what she comes to find is that no matter how different people seem on the surface, everyone is trying to find their place in the world, and not only is it OK to be confused – it’s normal!

The series is created and written by Andy Watts who was also behind the hugely popular BAFTA nominated My Parents Are Aliens.

Spooky fun with Summer In Transylvania

Take a spine-tingling, rib-tickling trip to Transylvania for the fang-tastic teen sitcom, Summer In Transylvania, now on Vision Kids.

This bitingly funny show follows the adventures of Summer Farley and her family, whose move to the land of Dracula gets them up close and personal with vain vamps, zany zombies, and wacky werewolves.

As Summer struggles with her school, social life and dating, the antics come thick and fast – from lovesick werewolves to gigs in graveyards. It’s ghoulishly good stuff.

ABOUT THE SHOW

When 15 year old Summer Farley and her family move from England to Transylvania they are prepared for things to be tough - it's always hard to fit in to a new neighbourhood and a new school. But fitting-in becomes doubly hard when Summer discovers her neighbourhood is populated by werewolves, zombies, mummies, vampires, disembodied angry hands, ghosts, ghouls and hunchbacked simpletons... fitting-in starts to look more than merely challenging - it looks impossible.
