The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) honored director Monica Dávila for her work on Nickelodeon's hit CG-animated preschool series Santiago of the Seas at the 2021 Gracie Awards!

Currently in its 46th year, the Gracie Awards recognize exemplary programming created by women, for women and about women in all facets of media and entertainment. They also acknowledge the individuals who have made inspirational contributions to the industry.

Named after the late Gracie Allen, the Gracie Awards acknowledge outstanding team leadership and individual achievement. The Gracies focus on women who are making positive change and who further the discussion of what a fulfilling career in media looks like.

Kerry Washington, Lena Waithe, Kelly Clarkson, Michelle Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Erin Andrews were also among this year's winners.

Dávila, who serves as a storyboard director on Santiago of the Seas, picked up her award in the "Director- Family [TV - National]" category of the Television National Honorees  portion of this year's awards.

In addition to Santiago of the Seas, Dávila has also worked on Nickelodeon's Shimmer and Shine and Wallykazam!, as well as animated series such as The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle, Big Hero 6: The Series and Archibald's Next Big Thing.
