Nickelodeon on the Verge of Renewing 'SpongeBob SquarePants' for Season 14

Nickelodeon is on the cusp of ordering a 14th season of the networks hit original animated series SpongeBob SquarePants!

Although SpongeBob has yet to be formally renewed for season 14, when asked whether the new season would be greenlit by Nickelodeon, Vincent Waller, who serves as a co-executive producer on the series, revealed in a tweet it "[l]ooks like it, I'll let you know when the order is announced".

The news comes as Nickelodeon is expanding the SpongeBob Universe. Paramount+ recently debuted Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years, the first spin-off from SpongeBob, as well as the franchise's third movie, Sponge on the Run. Kamp Koral will also air on Nickelodeon in September, as season two swims onto Paramount Plus. Nickelodeon treated fans to a sneak peek of Kamp Koral, which serves as a prequel series to SpongeBob, in which it scored Nickelodeon the top telecast of 2021 to date with Kids 2-11 on ad supported TV.

Nickelodeon is also slated to bow The Patrick Star Show, a new spin-off following a young adult version of SpongeBob's BFF, Patrick Star this summer. All three shows are produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank, California.

Nickelodeon President Brian Robbins also recently revealed that more spin-offs are in the works.

“It really is like a mini-Marvel Universe,” said Robbins, who was named head of Nickelodeon in 2018.

Since its launch July 17, 1999, SpongeBob SquarePants has reigned as the number-one animated series on TV for the last 18 years, while generating a universe of beloved characters, pop culture catchphrases and memes, theatrical releases, consumer products, a Tony Award®-winning Broadway musical and a global fan base.  SpongeBob SquarePants is the most widely distributed property in ViacomCBS Networks International history, seen in more than 170 countries and territories, translated in 30+ languages, and averaging more than 100 million total viewers every month. SpongeBob SquarePants was created by Stephen Hillenburg and produced by Nickelodeon in Burbank. The character-driven cartoon chronicles the nautical and sometimes nonsensical adventures of SpongeBob, an incurable optimist and earnest sea sponge, and his undersea friends.

  1. I want this show to end until 2023, when the kids say goodbye to the Nickelodeon channel.

    1. Tal vez suceda.

    2. Maybe it will happen.

Well maybe it will happen, maybe not, only time will tell.

But it would be a shame if the series ended already, also there are still many Episodes of season 13 to be transmitted, season 14 still does not have a premiere date, but I suppose it will be in 2023, when season 13 has ended.

    3. First off time will not tell I'm pretty sure they're going to keep on make a new seasons for the show for years it's obvious look at The Simpsons Sesame Street etc anyways the point is is that it will never end and if it does well then I won't be too surprised in my opinion I'm glad they never ended the show in the first place but they should have kept it the same like they did in the first three seasons and by the way the show isn't as good as it used to so I won't be too sad if it ends I would have mixed feelings about it but that's all have a good day
