Nick Jr. Australia to Host 'Baby Shark Week' Between Monday, July 13 to Friday, July 17

Nickelodeon has greenlit a new animated preschool series based on the viral sensation Baby Shark!

Baby Shark's Big Show! (working title) will be co-produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio and SmartStudy, the global entertainment company behind the beloved children’s brand Pinkfong.

The 2D-animated series will span across 26 half-hour episodes and will follow Baby Shark and his best friend William on their adventures in their community of Carnivore Cove, while singing original tunes along the way.

Alongside the show, Nickelodeon's parent company - ViacomCBS' - consumer products division will manage the consumer products licensing worldwide, excluding China, Korea and Southeast Asia, for the Baby Shark property.

To celebrate and give Australian audiences a taste of what’s to come, Baby Shark will take over Nickelodeon Australia's top-rated preschool channel, Nick Jr., from Monday, July 13 to Friday, July 17 for a special 'Baby Shark Week' event.

Each morning from 9am kids can tune in to see Baby Shark shorts and music videos, alongside underwater-themed episodes of preschool series PAW Patrol and Bubble Guppies.

Nickelodeon Animation Production and Development executive VP Ramsey Naito said that the business was thrilled to create the new series.

"Having the opportunity to dive deeper into this incredible world and create all-new storylines has been extremely exciting, and our head of preschool Eryk Casemiro and his team can’t wait to help grow the Baby Shark universe and fanbase with an amazing new series that captures the heart and spirit of this beloved property," she said.

Baby Shark launched on YouTube in November 2015 and has amassed more than 5.8 billion views, making it the second most-watched video in the platform’s history.

Baby Shark’s Big Show! is the latest series to join Nickelodeon’s preschool lineup which includes Ryan’s Mystery Playdate, Bubble Guppies and Blaze and the Monster Machines.
