Not much information about the series is currently known, apart than the project is currently going under the name "Untitled CG Animation Series".
Amblin Entertainment, Inc. is the film production company founded by director and producer Steven Spielberg, the man behind iconic movie franchises such as Gremlins, Indiana Jones, Jaws, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, Men in Black and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, many of which could fit under the "Amblin-inspired adventure/comedy series" and "exciting new take on a beloved Sci-Fi franchise" umbrellas.
Nickelodeon Animation are currently looking for a "outstanding Supervising Director to oversee the story teams for a exciting new take on a beloved Sci-Fi franchise. In this role, you will help bring to life this cinematic Amblin-inspired adventure/comedy series."
The Basic Qualifications section of the job listing also gives a few clues about the series. Nickelodeon Animation is currently seeking a Supervising Director who possesses "strong cinematic storytelling skills" and a "passion for Sci-Fi, Action, and Comedy genres", as well as a 'advanced knowledge of ToonBoom Storyboard Pro'.
Nickelodeon is currently in the midst of developing a couple of new Sci-Fi shows: the live-action The Astronauts and a CG-animated Star Trek series.
