Filming Multi-Camera Sketch Comedy with Michael Franks | All That | Nickelodeon

On a recent episode of Go Creative Show, host Ben Concoli spoke to DP Michael Franks about shooting multi-camera sketch comedy, as well as Nickelodeon’s reboot of the network's iconic 90’s sketch comedy series, All That!


Michael shares stories from his early career at Saturday Night Live and how it prepared him for All That. He also shares insight on the grueling work schedule that is required when working on a weekly sketch comedy show, where you need to light over 70 sets in 5 weeks. Ben and Michael also discuss the challenge of lighting for multiple cameras.

Michael also shares what his preferred camera and lens packages are and what skills are required when working in multi-cam environments.
