Nickelodeon India Launches 'Say No To Fear' Anti-Bullying Campaign

Nickelodeon India Launches "Say No To Fear" Anti-Bullying Campaign

MUMBAI: A study conducted by Punjab University’s department of psychology has found that a staggering 77 percent of school children in India have reported being a victim of online or offline bullying, compared to 50 percent in the UK and 65 percent in France. Children being bullied in their formative years is a very grave issue that often tends to affect their mental health. If left unattended, the effects can damage the overall abilities of the child for the rest of his/ her life.

October being the Anti Bullying month, Nickelodeon India, under its Together For Good initiative will spread awareness about the issue of bullying in schools with the channels "Say No To Fear" campaign. It will educate children and adults about what constitutes bullying and what action kids should take to avoid the same.

With the help of its digital and social media reach, the channel aims to encourage children to speak up and talk to their parents or mentors if they were or are being bullied. The campaign is curated with interactive pictures where Super kid Shiva champions how to stand up against bullying in different environments. Daaduji, Nickelodeon India's newest IP is also giving out lessons of how bullying can be curbed and creating a safe environment for kids.

Nickelodeon India's Together For Good initiative was launched in 2016 as part of Nickelodeon International's wider Together For Good initiative. The initiative aims to empower kids to make positive changes in the world around them, and serves as a platform to inspire audiences to get involved in their communities, provide the resources and education to get the job done and celebrate the impact they are making every day.

Nickelodeon India's anti-bullying Together For Good follows on from the channels' Say No to Fear and Yes to Safety campaign earlier this year, which reached out to 40 million viewers with friendly yet informative videos. This initiative has received heaps of praises from the media fraternity, industry honchos, Bollywood and TV celebrities who’ve also spoken against bullying and promoting child safety.
