Vamanos! "Dora and Friends: Into the City!" To Premiere On Nick Jr. UK On Monday 3rd November 2014

Nickelodeon UK, the number one commercial kids TV network in the UK, has announced and confirmed the very exciting news in the following press release, from VIMN's official Nickelodeon UK & Ireland Press Centre, that Nick Jr. UK and Ireland, Nickelodeon UK's top-performing preschool channel, will start to premiere and show "Dora and Friends: Into the City!", a brand new animated spin-off series from Nickelodeon's massively popular animated preschool series "Dora the Explorer", on Monday 3rd November 2014 at 5:00pm (repeated at 6:00pm on Nick Jr. +1), as part of the channels Autumn/Winter 2014 programming highlights! Following the series debut, Nick Jr. UK & Eire will continue to air brand-new episodes of "Dora and Friends" weekdays at 5:00pm (replayed at 6:00pm on Nick Jr.+1).


Each half-hour episode of "Dora and Friends" features Dora, now living in the city of Playa Verde, attending school and working with a new group of human friends to give back to her community - having both real-life and magical adventures along the way. Throughout her journeys, Dora uses her problem-solving skills, Map App on her smartphone and a magical charm bracelet to navigate through the city and overcome any obstacle. The series is created by Chris Gifford and Valerie Walsh Valdes ("Dora the Explorer", "Go, Diego, Go!").


In the premiere episode, "Doggie Day", Dora and her friends embark on an adventure to help a singing dog, Cusco, find his lost puppy brothers and bring them to the Doggie Adoption Day. Developed with the support of educational experts and tested by young audiences, "Dora and Friends: Into the City" is set to a contemporary soundtrack of Latin-influenced pop music and features an interactive curriculum focusing on helping the community, problem solving, emotional skills and Spanish language.

Dora's new group of friends – Kate, Naiya, Emma, Alana and Pablo – all have unique interests but share Dora's passion for exploring, adventures and helping out in their community. Kate loves acting, Naiya enjoys science and maths, Emma's musical, Alana loves playing football and looking after animals and Pablo loves sports and adventures.

To celebrate the UK launch of "Dora and Friends", Nickelodeon UK will be holding a exclusive "Dora and Friends: Into the City!" premiere event in London on Sunday 2nd November 2014!

Nick's newly imagined Latina heroine is also set to make her debut in the 88th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City! Dora will make the journey to the Big Apple on Thursday 27th November 2014, with some of her new friends, Kate and Pablo, to sing and dance along the parade route on a brand-new float inspired by the series titled "Aventuras Fantasticas".
