iCarly's Miranda Cosgrove Reveals That The USA's First Lady, Michelle Obama, "Has Great Comic Timing"

'iCarly' Miranda Cosgrove: 'Michelle Obama has great comic timing'

iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove has said First Lady Michelle Obama had "great comic timing" during her guest appearance on the Nickelodeon show.

Obama will appear in an episode of the sitcom called 'iMeet The First Lady' in which she meets Carly and her friends when they attempt to set up a birthday video chat between Carly and her military father, who is serving overseas.

When asked for her thoughts on Obama's acting skills during an appearance on Today, Cosgrove said: "She's really good. She's really funny in real life so I think that's why she has good comic timing."

As for what the set was like during Obama's appearance, she said: "It's pretty crazy because there are Secret Service everywhere. They came about two weeks before and there was so much preparation.

"She was just really nice. She came to the set and was so easy to talk to. She loved fashion and dancing, so we got to dance in the episode."

Obama's appearance will highlight her work with the Joined Forces Initiative, which aims to bring attention to military families and provide support for partners and children of those serving, and military veterans.

Nickelodeon president Cyma Zarghami previously revealed that the episode had been written specifically for the First Lady by the show's creator and executive producer Dan Schneider.

Obama's episode of iCarly will air [on Nickelodeon USA] on January 16 [2012].

iCarly has been renewed for a fifth season.
