A sneak-peek from the upcoming brand new SpongeBob SquarePants episode "Dream Hoppers"! In the episode, SpongeBob explores the musical dream landscapes of his sleeping neighbors. (#267B)
"Dream Hoppers" is the last SpongeBob SquarePants episode produced as part of the show's 12th season, the last season creator Stephen Hillenburg worked on before his untimely passing in 2018.
An Easter Egg in "Dream Hoppers" is a brief image of SpongeBoy, an early drawing of SpongeBob SquarePants. Before SpongeBob was named SpongeBob, he was called SpongeBoy, with the series being titled SpongeBoy Ahoy!, but due to copyright issues with a mop company, he swapped a letter and settled on SpongeBob. He reportedly deemed it important to keep "sponge" in the moniker, out of fear that kids may mistake SpongeBob for a block of cheese.
