Just a couple days after Netflix re-added Nickelodeon's beloved animated series to its programming library in mid-May, the series became the most popular title on the entire service in the U.S.
According to data from FlixPatrol (via What's On Netflix), who holds global data for many streaming services around the world, including Netflix, Avatar: The Last Airbender was once again one of the most popular titles on Netflix USA in June, becoming the 3rd most watched TV series on the platform that month - beating the likes of Floor is Lava and Fuller House! In fact, Avatar: The Last Airbender was the only non-Netflix Original series to make the "Top 10 TV Series on Netflix for June 2020" list! For a series that's 15-years-old, that is seriously impressive!
Although unconfirmed, its thought that Netflix adding the HD edition of Avatar: The Last Airbender in June may have helped Avatar: The Last Airbender retain a top spot on Netflix.
Netflix will also be putting out an Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action series from original creators DiMartino and Konietzko sometime in the future, with filming set to begin this year. The streaming giant has said that it plans to stay true to the location and “background heritage” of the animated series after the 2010 film failed to do so.
