Nickelodeon Removes 'Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' from Schedules Globally

Something strange seems to be happening to Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Nickelodeon seems to be removing it's latest iteration of the iconic and long-running TMNT franchise seems from the schedules of Nick channels globally.

Encores and new episodes of Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have now been removed from the schedules of Nickelodeon and Nicktoons channels in the UK & Ireland, Australia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Latin America, Brazil, Italy (its still being aired on Rai Gulp), Spain, Portugal, France, Africa, Turkey, Central & Eastern Europe, South East Asia, Poland and Arabia.

The only Nickelodeon channel that I can find currently scheduled to air new episodes of Rise of the TMNT is Nickelodeon Russia. This may change, however. Encores of previously aired Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episodes are still airing on Nicktoons in the U.S. Update: Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is still on the air on Nickelodeon Greece and Nickelodeon Canada, however, it's not currently airing on YTV.

The whereabouts of Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and when the show is likely to return to the line-up has yet to be revealed by Nickelodeon. Although the show is currently off the schedules in many countries, most localised Nickelodeon website still has a Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show page, featuring information about the series as well as short-form clips and games - however, Nickelodeon Denmark, Sweden and Norway have now removed their Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles websites.

The news follows Nickelodeon pulling Sunny Day from schedules globally.

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a 2D-animated series which follows the band of brothers as they discover new powers and encounter a mystical world they never knew existed beneath the streets of New York City. The series premiered on Monday 17th September 2018. A second season was commissioned before the show premiered in September 2018.

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reimagines the characters in a fresh new way, featuring jagged-shelled Raphael as a snapping turtle, wielding twin tonfas as his weapons; Leonardo as a red-eared slider, using an ōdachi sword; Donatello as a soft-shell turtle, sporting a tech-bo staff; and Michelangelo as a box turtle, arming himself with a kusari-fundo. Along for the adventure is the Turtles’ most trusted ally, April O’Neil, a street savvy native New Yorker and Splinter, father figure and sensei to the Turtles.

The series stars the voice talent of Omar Miller (Ballers) as Raphael, Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation) as Leonardo, Josh Brener (Silicon Valley) as Donatello, Brandon Mychal Smith (You’re The Worst) as Michelangelo, Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries) as April O’Neil and Eric Bauza (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) as Splinter. WWE Superstar John Cena (Playing with Fire, The Substitute, Kids' Choice Awards, ) lends his voice as villain, Baron Draxum, an alchemist warrior mutant who seeks to turn all of humanity into mutants.

A Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles television movie is currently in production for Netflix.
