Nickelodeon UK's 'The Scoop' and Nick Jr. UK Receive Nominations in Broadcast Digital Awards 2019

The British television industry news publication Broadcast has announced the exciting news that Nickelodeon UK & Ireland has been shortlisted for two awards in the Broadcast Digital Awards 2019!

In the 2019 Broadcast Digital Awards, The Scoop has been shortlisted for the Best Digital Children’s Content award. Launched in 2016 as part of Nick@Nite, The Scoop is a digital series available to watch on Nickelodeon UK's social media pages on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. The show covers everything teen and tween audiences need to know from the worlds of celebrity, entertainment, music and style, and brings viewers exclusive interviews with their favourite celebrities and coverage of some the biggest events, such as SlimeFest UK and VidCon UK. The Scoop also participates in pro-social initiatives, such as Anti Bullying Week and Mental Health Awareness Week.

The social video brand aims to reach tween girls via social media with its carefully curated selection of topical, short and snappy updates.

The sub-brand, which has touched on weighty issues such as anti-bullying, supporting the LGBT community and body confidence, helped to nearly triple Nickelodeon’s Instagram following to 680,000.

Additionally, Nick Jr. UK & Ireland, Nickelodeon UK & Ireland's top-rated preschool channel, has been nominated for the Best Specialist Channel award! Where every day’s an adventure, Nick Jr. is a top-performing commercial pre-school entertainment brand in cable and satellite homes. Launched in 1999 as the world's first channel dedicated to pre-school children, Nick Jr.’s programming includes beloved shows PAW Patrol, Shimmer and Shine, Nella the Princess Knight and Peppa Pig. The channel also recently launched Nick Jr. Parents, a new initiative on Instagram in which popular social media parent influencers bring viewers an honest and open look into their lives and the crazy, funny world of parenting they experience every day, sharing tips and tricks, mess ups and DIYs along the way. Kids and parents can find lots of video clips, games, exclusive activities and downloads featuring their favourite Nick Jr. friends online at and on the Nick Jr. Play app. Viewers also have the opportunity to catch up with the schedule through Nick Jr. +1. Nick Jr. is available on Sky 615, Virgin 715, through BT Vision and TalkTalk channel 318.

The Broadcast Digital Awards awards celebrate leading digital content from across the UK, recognising and rewarding the most dynamic digital channels and programmes, effective and relevant second screen content, multi-platform projects and original content produced online.

This year's ceremony takes place on Wednesday 3rd July 2019 at The Brewery, London.

A huge congratulations and good luck, Nickelodeon!
