"Saved By The Bell" Star Says He's "Definitely Open" To Reviving The '90s Classic On Netflix

The nostalgic revival trend is something every big media company has a finger in at the moment, and Netflix is no stranger, having brought back Gilmore Girls to critical acclaim and Full House to... less acclaim.

One of the most requested revivals among '90s kids and fans of garish neon jackets is Saved by the Bell, which aired on NBC in the United States in the nineties and on Nickelodeon UK in the noughties.

Mario Lopez, who played AC Slater in the show (and now hosts a Candy Crush gameshow...), was asked about the possibility of a reunion by The Wrap, and this is what he said.

"I've got so much going on, it'd be kind of tough. But if there's a way to pull it off, I'm definitely open to it.

"It'd be a lot of fun to do, and I love those guys."

Although it doesn't look like a reunion show is happening any time soon, it doesn't mean Saved by the Bell hasn't been making the news in the last year or so.

For example, Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris), Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano), Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski) and Dennis Haskins (Principal Belding) recently reunited for a sketch on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Most recently, Zack Morris actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar apologised for a "completely racist" episode where his character dressed up as a Native American.

It was also revealed that the memorable caffeine pill addiction storyline was originally meant to be about speed, although most of the script remained untouched.

Additionally, Saved by the Bell's executive producer Peter Engel revealed to TVLine that the shows golden couple Zack and Kelly -
wouldn't still be married to each other!

Saved by the Bell currently airs on The Vault in the UK.
