Detroit Lions' Kerry Hyder spent part of his weekend working with kids at the NFL Experience in Houston ahead of Super Bowl LI. Then he got to turn back into a kid for a few seconds himself, stepping into the Nickelodeon slime tank wearing a blue Detroit Lions shirt to receive the ultimate Nickelodeon honor - a Nickelodeon Sliming!
Childhood dream fulfilled -- something the defensive lineman proudly posted on his Twitter account Sunday night. He did take the easy way out a little bit, wearing a clear poncho over his clothing before getting slimed instead of accepting his slime fate on his clothes:
Hyder, who had a breakout year in 2016, grew up two-and-a-half hours away in Austin, Texas. In addition to getting to step into the slime tank, he worked a Play 60 event. He was one of at least two Lions who were at the NFL Experience this weekend; safety Glover Quin, who lives in Houston in the offseason, showed up with his children.
Quin is involved in a few Super Bowl-related events this week, including a scholarship event put on by former Lions safety James Ihedigbo (another Houston resident) on Wednesday night.
Get set for Nickelodeon's Superstar Slime Showdown at Super Bowl, premiering on Nick USA (simulcast on Nicktoons and TeenNick) on Sunday 5th February 2017 from 12:00pm!
