Nickelodeon USA To Premiere "Albert", First-Ever Nickelodeon Original Christmas Movie, On Friday 9th December 2016

Viacom has announced the exciting news in the "Video Calendar of Viacom's Upcoming Premieres" on their official blog, blog.viacom, that Nickelodeon USA will premiere Albert, Nickelodeon's first-ever Original Christmas Movie, on Friday 9th December 2016! Viacom's official premiere calendar also features Nick USA's launch trailer for Albert!


Albert is the hilarious, sweet and exciting story of a little Douglas fir tree named Albert who loves Christmas more than anyone, and dreams of being THE big Christmas tree in Empire City. With his favourite holiday approaching, he becomes the star at Earth Mama's nursery by getting all the other indoor plants into the spirit. But when a TV newscast announces the search for the most famous Christmas tree, Albert knows he is meant to be that tree. Joined by his two best friends, a fun-loving palm tree and a rambunctious weed, Albert treks across the country to live his dream of becoming the world's most famous Christmas tree!


Albert is directed by Max Lang (The Gruffalo), and is executive produced by Chris Viscardi and Will McRobb (The Adventures of Pete & Pete). Nickelodeon first announced the film at Nickelodeon Upfront 2016.

To celebrate Nick USA debuting Albert this holiday season, Golden Books has published a beautifully illustrated hardcover Big Golden Book based on the television movie, titled "Albert: The Little Tree with Big Dreams", which fans are sure to love. The book, geared towards kids aged 3-7 (Grade Level: Preschool - 2), is written by authors Aaron Eisenberg and Will Eisenberg, and illustrated by Heather Martinez.
