Genie rubs off on more broadcasters

MIP NEWS: Broadcasters in Europe and the Middle East have picked up family sitcom Genie in the House from AB Distribution.

The 52x30' live-action series has been sold to Antena 3 (Spain), SIC (Portugal), Comedy TV (Russia), Italia Films (Middle East) and Happy TV (Serbia).

Produced by Helion Pictures and Moi J'Aime la Télévision, it airs on Nickelodeon in the UK and French broadcaster Canal J.

Further broadcast deals have already been secured with Nickelodeon in Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand and India. French comedy company Happy Audience handles video and DVD rights and is in Cannes this week working on signing up local partners.

The show follows the antics of sisters Sophie and Emma who discover a hapless teen genie living in their attic.
